DENVER WATER FORMER ADMIN BUILDING DEMOLITION & EARTHWORK PROJECT

Location: Denver, CO
Date: Dec 2020-May 2021
Size: 5-Story Office Building Located in Downtown Denver. Total building square footage 525,000 SF

American Demolition Inc (ADI), was the selected contractor to perform this high-profile demolition project, which included the complete demolition of a 5-story building known as the former Denver Water Administration Building.

ADI was responsible for the demolition, haul off, disposal of the former super structure as well as self-performing the storm water management (SWMP) for the duration of the demolition.

Utilizing a specialized fleet of heavy equipment ADI demolished the 5- story structure and associate site removals totaling 525,000 square feet of building and site demolition. Prior to building demolition, ADI “gutted” the inside of the structure, to ensure the LEEDS recycling goals were met prior to completion. Materials were segregated throughout demolition, loaded as waste, or recycled at designated drop offs. A 60% LEEDS recycling goal was met, ADI was also able to recycle 75% of the building materials from this demolition project. ADI’s skilled team developed and implemented a detailed demolition plan, within this plan ADI described how the structure would be demolished without damaging adjacent buildings that were less than 20 feet away from the Office building being demolished. Again, the ADI team excelled our client’s expectations by safely and efficiently demolishing the Former Admin building on the Denver Water campus.

ADI coordinated closely with City and County of Denver to ensure proper SWMP was followed. Our Stormwater Management Employees, managed and implemented all erosion control measures from the start of the project to final stabilization. Weekly and Monthly audits were conducted throughout the time on site to display the true priority of protecting water quality from discharge of pollutants. The attention to detail during the duration of the project ensured no risk to water quality.

All necessary controls and safety precautions were implemented and followed which led to successfully completing the project with zero injuries. American Demolition Inc completed another high-profile demolition project and added another satisfied client to our portfolio.

FORMER CDOT HEADQUARTERS DEMOLITION

American Demolition Inc (ADI) completed demolition of three separate buildings at the former Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Headquarters, creating space for the development of mixed-use properties on the newly cleared 27 acres.

ADI was responsible for the demolition, haul-off, disposal of contaminated soil, and stormwater management (SWMP). Utilizing a fleet of equipment ADI demolished the multi-story structures totaling 496,000 square feet of buildings that were demolished, which included the 6-story former CDOT headquarters building, built in the early 1950s. Materials were segregated throughout demolition, loaded as waste or recycled at designated drop-offs; a portion of the clean concrete slabs was crushed onsite and placed across the building footprint, which served as final stabilization under the SWMP regulation, for each building demolished. ADI was able to recycle 80% of the concrete and building materials from this demolition project.

ADI and CDOT coordinated closely with Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to ensure proper SWMP. ADIs Stormwater Management Employees, managed and implemented all erosion control measures from the start of the project to final stabilization. Weekly and Monthly audits were conducted throughout the time on-site to display the true priority of protecting water quality from the discharge of pollutants. The attention to detail during the duration of the project ensured no risk to water quality.

All necessary control measurements and safety precautions were in place. The individual workers played vital roles in completing the project with the spirit “safety is embraced and implemented every single day”. And it’s worth all the effort: zero injuries. American Demolition Inc is so proud to complete another high profile demolition project and add another satisfied client to our achievements.

Location: Westminster, CO
Date: July 2011-June 2013
Size: Over 1,000,000 SQFT of Phased-Out Commercial Demolition

American Demolition Inc was the general contractor for this massive abatement and demolition project, known as the Westminster Mall Phase 1 and 2 Abatement and Demolition Project. American Demolition Inc has successfully completed 6 of the last 7 Malls that have been demolished over the past 8 years in the Colorado Region. This project was by far the largest. During the Phase 1 Demolition, American Demolition Inc had to demolish portions of the superstructure commercial buildings around the corridor of the former mall, while the corridor was still being occupied by the public. Once the Phase 2 Demolition had begun, American Demolition Inc began the massive demolition project, which was a 27-acre site, totaling over 1 Million Square feet of building demolition. The project began in July of 2011 and was complete in mid-2013. Not only did American Demolition Inc demolish and remove the entire mall, but ADI also completed the demolition and removal of several commercial structures surrounding the mall site (these structures were demolished and were additionally initiated by the owner). With all expertise and experiences, ADI has completed a project of this magnitude, professionalism with outstanding performance.

FOOTHILLS MALL DEMOLITION

Location: Ft Collins, CO
Date: Aug 2014-May 2015
Size: Over 550,000 SQFT of Phased-Out Commercial Demolition

The Foothills Mall Demolition Project consisted of over 500,000 SQFT of building demolition. The mall corridor was left intact and was being occupied by the public during the entire demolition project, ADI had to perform what we call a “Surgical” building demolition. ADI was responsible for demolishing large superstructures and large retail buildings, connected to the corridor, each structure to be demolished was carefully detached from the portion of the building that was to remain. American Demolition Inc, was asked to step in and take this project over from another Colorado Demolition contractor that did not have the expertise to perform a project of this manner. American Demolition Inc jumped right into action from the permit transfer to mobilizing and beginning demolition within 3 days from the time being called. American Demolition Inc’s expertise and reliability again had proven to be unmatched.

4120 BRIGHTON BOULEVARD

Location: Downtown, Denver
Date: June 2017-Aug 2018
Size: Over 550,000 SQFT of Heavy Industrial Building Demolition

ADI was hired by Mortenson Construction to complete the multi-phase demolition of several commercial warehouses located at the 4120 Brighton Blvd site.

Located on the site were several multi story warehouse structures ADI demolished. Total building square footage at this site was 446,744 SF of strucual building demolition. As you can see from the demolition phase map, ADI had to surgically remove portions of the super structures and certain areas of the structures were left intact.

ADI’s skilled project manager had to provide and put into place a detailed work plan, to remove portions of the 75 year old structures, without causing any damage to the portions of the buildings that were going to remain. ADI completed the project on time and with no incidents to personal, the public, or any of the remaining structures located on this site. Duration of this project was an 18-month demolition duration. ADI added this project along with several others to our list of highly satisfied clients, and will be returning to this site in the Summer of 2019, to complete the demolition of a former warehouse building located across the street from this project site.

Size: Over 100,000 SQFT of Commercial Building Demolition

Again ADI out performed its competitors, by completing the project on time, in budget, and exceeded the recycling goals set forth on the project. AURA wanted to recycle as much material on this project, to reach LEED goals, ADI reached a 65% recycling goal on all debris diverted from the landfill. Below is a description of what was recycled to be the goals, which was published in the Cities newspaper.

American Demolition Inc takes Recycling and Waste Diversion very serious when approaching Demolition projects. American Demolition uses a specific project approach when it comes to segregating the building materials during the demolition process. American Demolitions skilled operators follow a ‘plan of attack’ to achieve the 65% recycling goal set at the start of the project. During the removal American Demolition crews follow strict demolition guidelines such as dust control throughout the entire demolition process and during the segregation/separation of materials. When demolishing the Arvada Square structures, American Demolitions skilled operators were able to segregate the following items during the demolition process: ferrous metals (such as steel I-beams and Columns), non-ferrous metals (such as copper, wire, and aluminum). American Demolition was able to recycle 65% of the building materials on this project. American Demolition recycled and diverted approx. 406.25 tons of building materials from the local landfills. The amount of debris hauled off from this project was 625 tons. American Demolition was able to fully satisfy its valued clients needs during and throughout this project! CIVIC CENTER DEMOLITION

Location: Downtown, Denver
Date: July 2016-Oct 2017
Size: Over 400,000 SQFT of Structural Underground Bus Terminal Demolition

The RTD Civic Center Demolition Project consisted of the former RTD Main Bus Terminal located in the heart of downtown Denver. This was the most complex demolition project performed to date. Most of our competitors and other Colorado Demolition contractors did not even attempt to provide pricing or service on this project. American Demolition Inc., was ready and eager to accept the challenge of this complex demolition project. ADI was selected as the MBE, DBE, & SBE certified demolition contractor, to perform the demolition work.

There were multiple levels of the Civic Center Plaza, which included an underground bus terminal. The RTD Civic Demolition project was a very logistically difficult project located in the heart of Downtown Denver area within the Central Business District of Downtown Denver. This required an extensive overview and detailed coordination to meet superior safety regulations. The project involved demolishing the former RTD bus terminal, removal of above-grade public area concrete slabs and vegetation, and selective demolition of the underground parking garage. Connected to the bus terminal was an adjacent multi-story High-rise structure. Several Federal government agencies were in the adjacent building, they all had a bird’s-eye view of American Demolition’s outstanding performance!

American Demolition Inc. had to ensure that the adjacent structure was left intact and unharmed. We are proud to say that American Demolition’s professional demolition experts and team succeeded in every aspect of the project. Our highly-trained operators and staff accomplished every expectation of our clients’ needs throughout the project. ADI excelled in not only completing the work safely, but also on time and without any critical issues. Additionally, we were in a unique position as we were being publicized around the clock by the City and County of Denver, RTD, public and media. The work continued during large special City-planned events, Holidays, and weekends to ensure the schedule was met. Again, for the record, American Demolition Inc. proudly added another highly satisfied client along with another difficult project to our resume!
